Все меры веса и длины приведены в соответствие, деньги переведены в доллары. Она немного отходит от оригинала, потому что при переводе предпочтение целиком отдавалось стилистике.

Этот перевод никогда не стал основным, но почти каждая верующая семья в США имеет эту версию Библии у себя дома.

Высокохудожественный перевод Библии.
Причем тут важнее было передать красоту и стиль, чем точность слова или даже притчи, которая могла быть заменена на привычную и более понятную американцу.

Псалтырь и Притчи переведены стихами.
Знатоку языка будет очень интересно прочитать эту версию. Прекрасный английский, неожиданные обороты. Вместе с тем, корректный перевод. Суть Библии не искажается.
Разумеется такой перевод не может быть основным.

TLB - The Living Bible: For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

MSG - The Message: This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.
17 God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.

Rem - The Remedy: For God loved the world so much that he gave me, his One and only Son, so that all who open their hearts and trust me will be healed, and therefore not perish but have everlasting life.
17 For God did not send me, his Son, into the world to condemn the world, but to provide healing from sin in order to restore the world to unity with God through me.

TPT - The Passion Translation: For God loved the world so much that He offers His One and Only Son, so that all those who believe in Him will never perish but experience eternal life.
17 God did not send His Son into the world to be its Judge and to condemn it, but to be its Savior and to rescue it!
